Some players really do enjoy making farms and things to harvest xp and items. While it can be very rewarding, i think players that are looking for a challenge should have it the other way...
Idea 1
The obvious way is too update existing structures and add new ones making them harder as the player progress but more rewarding. Example like deeper and more difficult dungeons and things. While you would think it is more towards Tools and Armour rewards which is okay and would be quite nice. I think there should be structures that focuses mainly on food and blocks, and other basic resources but gives alot of them like alot alot. Canceling the need to construct a farm for it and can last for a long time. But also comes with storage sorting issues like how are you gonna carry all that Full Invetory Shulker worth of golden carrots? or gunpowder or nametags
Idea 2
Instead of updating the structures and adding new ones, which sounds not as hard to some players. To give the devs more sleep, maybe a quest villager or just a quest system in general. Basically, you do things what you are told to do. But to not make things boring like Collect 64 wood for 2 double chest worth of cooked beef, instead something like Conquer 2 pillager outpost and free 10 villagers (with a given location on a map) for foods or 'this resources'. Maybe even make it so that the player can choose what rewards and the ammount that they want them in, and ofcourse the more it is the harder itll get (combat focussed)
