With the current snapshots and tweaks to the Warden to make it harder to cheese, something becomes lacking with how the warden feels when chasing you and/or observing it.
The Warden being able to float above the water like most other mobs is great, and having a ranged attack with its new sonic blast is a smart choice. These make it objectively harder to cheese the Warden, but it is left overall very derpy (at least floating above the water).
The implementation of a climbing mechanic for the Warden (similar to the spider) makes sense, especially if it can have enough strength to dig in and out of the ground. On top of that, if it truly is able to pursue a player, it should be able to properly swim, like a drowned.
I did enjoy playing with the first experimental snapshot featuring the Warden when it was an undead mob. As it chased me below the water I felt more intimidated by the fact that when I would reach shore it would be there basically waiting. Watching it run out of the depths made it even scarier, so something similar to that might make the immersion feel better.
