Yesterday I started a survival world, single biome mangrove swamp, to explore the new biome. One thing that became immediately apparent is that you collect a lot of mangrove roots as you climb the trees looking for logs, and there’s very little to do with them. I think it would make sense to be able to craft them into 2-4 sticks, which would make them immediately usable for game progress instead of being essentially the same as collecting leaves.
I do think they should be collected as normal blocks when you break them without silk touch, as they are useful for bridging through the swamp, but they should be a crafting ingredient for something more immediately useful as wood that you have harvested and spent a wooden or stone axe on in day 1.
