Farming logs?

Given the growing complexity in trees, like the mangrove tree or the large oak tree. It would be nice to have a way to farm these more easily without the need for complex redstone tutorials. I am NOT suggesting for a veinminer or lumber villager. Maybe a new mob like a Bever that you can use to farm logs or planks. Preferably the farming method would be at some point in the mid game, so collecting wood early on isn't made too easy. Maybe a mob from the nether with a drawback being they are hostile, similar to hoglins.
