Dear Mojang Team,
Minecraft is a sanctuary for creative expression, but the foundational 16-color spectrum limits builders striving for smooth gradients and realistic textures. I propose an update introducing over 64+ intermediate colors and a dynamic Custom Color System, complete with full block and interface parity across both Bedrock and Java editions.
1. Expanded Pre-Defined Palette
We need logical additions across all dyed materials, including Wool, Concrete, Terracotta, Glazed Terracotta, Glass, and Dyes:
Colors: Crimson, apple red, tomato, scarlet, vermilion, amber, marigold, peach, tan, salmon, terracotta, maroon, burgundy, yellow ochre, lemon, chartreuse, olive, mint, malachite, jade, spring green, sea green, electric lime, cerulean, azure, dodger blue, navy, indigo, teal, periwinkle, violet, cerise, carmine, russet, citron, slate blue, buff, sage, plum, slate gray, dark gray, blue gray, ivory white, beige, dark brown, light brown, taupe and mauve.
2. Customized Color System
True creative freedom requires an infinite RGB/Hex system.
Survival: An Advanced Cauldron or "Pigment Press" workstation where players blend dyes to yield Custom Dye Bottles storing exact Hex values via NBT tags.
Technical: Leveraging data-driven architecture allows dynamic block states to render custom colors without bloating hardcoded item IDs.
This update empowers builders and honors the philosophy of creative freedom. Thank you for considering this roadmap addition.
