Runes (enchantment for blocks)

Rune enchantments would be added with the archeology system in the form of a Rune Clay Tablet, a new item that you would find in the excavation sites and it would need to be deciphered in a new working station, the Deciphering Table.

Upon deciphering the Rune Clay Tablet it would reveal itself into an Enchantment Rune, this new enchantment system would not apply to tools and weapons, but for blocks and other items, for example, making fireproof wood, waterproof Redstone, more powerful TNT, and so on. Once you successfully decipher it, you wouldn't need to decipher the same type of rune anymore

The archeology system was looking quite bare and lacking features when it was first revealed and I think this would be a nice addition to it.

  i was going to post this idea, i found it searching my own key words.
  i love this idea and the same runes could be used to translate the magic alphabet of enchanting. Acquiring runes allows us to gradually translate (maybe with a translate button) parts of the enchantments before applying them. get all the symbols, and you will totally understand what you are doing with the enchant table.
  In my opinion a rune should be traceable on any face of the block, giving the block, potentially, up to 6 effects or a single cumulative effect.
  the block could get stronger and harder, could be explosive at touch or moving, could be frail and break at first touch, could become bouncy, emit light, harm the player walking on it and much more. the only way to remove a rune should be to destroy the block.
  it shouldn't be possible to apply it on bedrock, barriers, portal frames and other indestructible blocks.
