The Eye of the Storm is a cousin to the Eye of Ender. It has the same appearance but with a light yellow iris instead of light green. Like the Eye of Ender, when the Eye of the Storm is thrown it travels into the sky and then shatters with the same stream and explosion particle effects as an Eye of Ender, but with dark gray particles instead of purple particles. This item is single use, so it shatters on every throw. Shortly after the Eye shatters, a thunderstorm forms, allowing you to utilize a Channeling or Riptide trident, get mob heads or convert mobs to your heart's content. Thunderstorms summoned behave just like naturally generated storms so rain doesn’t appear in deserts all of a sudden. These stack to the normal 64. More importantly, no more waiting around for thunderstorms.
I wanted to parallel the Eye of Ender in its entirety to keep a sense of familiarity so the recipe is 1 Ender Pearl + 1 Fulgurite (item, not Silk Touched) = 1 Eye of the Storm
Notice I'm proposing a new farmable item to make this possible.
When lightning strikes on or near a sand block there is a small chance for Fulgurite (non-solid block) to grow on top of the sand. No sand is consumed in this process. It would have a slightly darker color palette compared to the base sand and have a variety of shapes, similar to current coral. When you break it, you get a uniform, stackable, jagged looking Fulgurite item.Silk Touching Fulgurite blocks yields the various placeable shapes for decoration purposes.
