Minecraft needs a survival overhaul that makes exploration meaningful. Here is a complete design concept for the dimension and general gameplay mechanics:
- General Mechanics: Expand total inventory to 40 slots (10 Hotbar / 30 Inventory). Allow Saddles to stack up to 16 or 64 items. Implement an optional Thirst Bar affected by climate. Fix Bundles to treat tools/armor as a single item, not a full stack. Ensure full Bedrock/Java parity (Shield, off-hand, Nether roof).
- New Biome & Structure: Blackwood Forest features neon-violet grass and pure black wood trees with glowing leaves. Void Ruins generate on outer islands containing the Enderite Armor Trim.
- 4 New Mobs:
- The Waker: A void-walking mob you can saddle and control using a rod with a Blackwood mushroom to cross islands without building bridges.
- The Attacker (Hostile): Camouflaged mob that rams players into the void and drops 20% pearls.
- The passive Mob (passive): Passive mob dropping chorus fruit and 10% pearls.
- Baby Dragon: Hatching the egg on an end block spawns this flying mount. Can hold chests and hang boats. Left-clicking while riding forces it (or a Happy Ghast) to shoot projectiles. Feeding a Golden Dandelion to the egg turns it into a permanent trophy block.
- Enderite Ore: Found at the very bottom of the islands. Enderite items float back to the surface if you fall into the void when you die, with the helmet you can see an enderman without getting attacked, and the chestplate can fuse with Elytras.
