The Problem:
The current 1:8 coordinate system for Nether portals often creates frustrating linking issues, even for experienced players. Portals frequently auto-generate in wrong locations or cross-link unexpectedly to primary bases instead of new destinations. Calculating coordinates manually breaks immersion and creates a barrier for casual players.
The Suggestion:
Please introduce a simpler, more intuitive, and innovative mechanic to link Overworld and Nether portals directly.
Instead of relying strictly on coordinate math and auto-search radiuses, players should have a gameplay-based method to manually pair/bind a specific Overworld portal to a specific Nether portal (for example, through a new item interaction, a tuning mechanic, or a portal UI/attribute).
Why this helps:
-
It eliminates unintended cross-linking and portal overlap.
-
It makes Nether travel networks reliable and accessible to everyone without requiring external calculators or debug screens (F3).
-
It gives players direct creative control over their fast-travel highways.
