Hello, Mojang studios. It has come to my (and what I would assume to be many others) attention that the recovery compass is actually a useless item in both hard-core worlds and the late game. Why? I'm sure you're familiar with this, but by the time a player dies when they've reached above average progress (ex, netherite tools), they are most likely to quit and create a new world. This is likely because they are either 1. Too far away to meet the 5 minute deadline they have until their items despair, or 2. Simply don't want to put in the effort of attempting to regain their resources. I know what you're thinking though! "This is the fault of the player, dying and losing your items is a fair penalty to encourage the player to learn and do better next time." And to that, I say you are correct! But remember, the point of minecraft is to express creativity and explore, but most importantly, have fun. If a player is pressured to get their items back within a 5 minute time frame, of course they'll quit. Maybe add a pause to that timer (along with a fun little indicator that the timer has been paused) when holding the recovery compass. Since I'm running out of characters to type with, I'll cut to the chase. Recovery compasses on hard-core worlds are useless. I'm pretty sure you can assume why. It would be very appreciated and fun if you added a fun little gimmick, or at the bare minimum an easter egg when you die with it in your inventory.
Thank you.
