Minecraft Bedrock Edition has an amazing, lightweight C++ engine, but creators are heavily limited by the current Script API. We propose the creation of an official, advanced C++ Modding SDK exclusive to the Windows/PC version, called "Advanced Modding Mode".
How it would work safely and profitably:
- The "Pro" Environment: Windows players can toggle an experimental "Advanced Modding" switch in world settings. This unlocks deeper engine access (custom physics, infinite vertical height chunks, custom shaders, and true multi-threading optimization).
- The Marketplace Ecosystem: Instead of killing the Marketplace, this expands it! Advanced creators can package these high-performance mods and sell them as "Premium Add-ons" or "Total Conversions" in the Marketplace. This generates millions in new revenue for Microsoft and professional studios.
- Console Safety: To comply with Sony, Nintendo, and Xbox strict rules, these advanced mods would be fully compiled and verified by Microsoft's security team before being allowed onto the Marketplace for console players. Non-Marketplace raw C++ mods would remain exclusive to PC local worlds.
- Stopping Java Migration: Millions of players stay on Java only because of technical mods (like distant rendering or custom physics). Giving Bedrock this power will unify the community under the modern C++ engine.
Let's unlock the true potential of the Bedrock Engine!
