leather chainmail armor

this are two ideas why this could be good
chainmail armor has no use other than being niche collectible thing and being only armor that is partially transparent, at point you likely can actually acquire set in regular gameplay, you got superior armor regarding stats and it isnt transparent enough and in a way when it could be justified to be used with invisibility potion or anything such
leather armor is currently only viable method of protecting from freezing and you cant improve your protection much if you want to stay resistant to cold effects

making leather armor pieces craftable with chainmail ones could let you make iron-level (higher than chainmail, since there are logically 2 protective layers) armor with similar durability and stats that is also resistant to cold, it is acquired by different enough means to it be justified "side tier" armor, it is also decently strong but not nearly as strong as regular endgame armor (diamond/netherite)

it is also realistic, chainmail alone in reality is nearly useless for protection in combat, it was combined with some type of cushioning to soften blows, it could look cool in game too, especially if we could still color leather under chainmail
