Y'know how in bedrock leaves turn white when it snows?
Why not add that to Java Edition?
My proposition is that it becomes a new block. When it snows in Java Edition, all types of leaves (oak leaves, spruce leaves, birch leaves, etc.) should turn white, into snowy leaves (snowy oak leaves, snowy spruce leaves, snowy birch leaves, etc.). These snowy leaves work just like regular leaves, being shear-able and dropping sticks and those sorts of things.
I also wanna take inspiration from the new icicles. I think the snowy leaves should be able to thaw into the regular leave variants when near torches and sources of warmth. Another thing I wanna clarify is that all three different colors of dappled forest leaves should have different snowy leaves with different shades of white. For example; yellow dappled leaves turn into snowy dappled leaves, orange dappled leaves turn into chilly dappled leaves, and finally, red dappled leaves turn into frozen dappled leaves. And you should be able to apply the new ice balls to the snowy leaves to make them not thaw from warmth (so it doesn't ruin building opportunities).
(BTW! I saw someone had said the same thing, about being able to pick up white leaves, and I want to apologize if it looks like I stole the idea. I want to clarify, though, that I did not intend to steal someones idea, and I DID think of this myself too. Hopefully I am on good terms with the community! Okay thanks, goodbye!)
