Right now, exploring frozen surface biomes (like Ice Spikes, Frozen Peaks, or Snowy Tundras) can feel unrewarding compared to warmer biomes that host structures like Desert Temples or Jungle Pyramids.
To fix this and incentivize underground exploration in these cold regions, I suggest adding a unique world generation feature focused on rewards and visuals: Extra Diamond Ore and a deep "Blue" ambient aesthetic in ice caves biomes.
How it would work:
- The Visual Blue Touch: To make the biome look stunning and uniquely atmospheric, the cave walls should feature larger veins of Blue Ice intermixed with deepslate.
- The Reward: Some extra diamond veins would generate encased directly inside this Blue Ice, making them look unique to the environment. This creates a glowing, deep-blue frosty underworld.
-
My generation suggestion:
- Generation Type: Triangle
- Y-Level Range: MaxY: 32 and MinY: -32
- Max Vein Size: 3 or 4 blocks(small veins)
- Spawn Rate: 1.0 or 1.5 (intended as a small, rare generation)
- Peak Generation: I chose the peak at layer 0 because that is where ice caves generate most frequently.
Why this is good for Minecraft:
- Exploration Incentive: Players will have a strong, practical reason to explore frozen biomes to find these rare, beautiful, and rewarding icy caverns.
- Stunning Aesthetic: Giving the caves a strong "Blue Cave" identity creates a beautiful, cold, and magical underworld that contrasts perfectly with regular dark caves.
