thatch recipe from wheat please

I would like to see a thatch recipe added to mine craft. Thatch should be crafted from wheat the same way dye are crafted from there pigment sources.

Its true that wheat and hay bail make little to no sense having slab and stairs variants.   But making thatch a resource which can be crafted from wheat allow builder in minecraft the ability to have access to stone age technology and with the addition of mud to minecraft. Builder can now produce pre medieval style building and architect   

A mud hut with a thatch stair roof would be cool and fit the theme of minecraft perfect.
