The quests were fine, but the replay value is not there. In the first game the forest, the swamp and the Fiery Forge each felt different, and running them never got old. Here the interconnected world is nice, but the dungeons — the part the game is named for — all look the same. Running them more than once is boring.
After about 30 hours I am level 100, weapons are at 150 power, and emeralds are capped at 99,999. Selling gear does nothing. There is no storage chest like in the first game, and 80 items per category is not enough.
Level 100 also only gives 100 enchantment points. That is not enough for more than one loadout. A roll build already uses the melee weapon, the ranged weapon, the helmet, the chest, the legs and the boots. A poison, damage or lightning build means disenchanting everything and enchanting the next set. That is not fun.
The item information is worse too. There are no combat stats. Effect names and tiers only show in the mini inventory, not in the full one. Clicking an equipped weapon there does not open that weapon. It drops you on the last entry in the category, and you have to scroll to find it just to read the effect names.
I know it is unfair to compare the finished first game, DLCs included, with this one, and I hope the two planned DLCs add more. Combat is still fun, but it is no longer a challenge, and a lot of what worked in the first game is simply worse. For me, 30 hours was enough.
