Upgrading merchants does not work on switch 2 (at least for me)

I have tried multiple controllers on my switch 2 and i can't upgrade the enchantsmith, village merchant, or blacksmith I tried holding down the button on 5 different controllers (all official) and it doesn't work if you guys have a solution pls comment otherwise mojang fix it

    I worked it out. I thought it was saying hold up on the d-pad. That’s what it looks like to me. It’s actually the plus button on the controller you have to hold down
