Twisted Cape Dupe

I’m wondering what’s going to happen with duped Twisted/Hero cape since there’s people who preordered and paid for them and now it’s being duped and people it’s getting it for free

    There are currently over 50,000 Twisted Capes and nearly 40,000 Hero Capes listed on NameMC. Considering that Minecraft Dungeons II has certainly not had anywhere near that many legitimate buyers, these numbers raise serious concerns about duplicated/illegitimately distributed capes. If these capes were obtained through a dupe exploit, the duplicated capes should be removed from the accounts that obtained them, while legitimate owners who actually purchased/pre-ordered the game should keep theirs. It would be unfair to the players who paid for these rewards if duplicated copies were allowed to remain permanently.

    If Mojang decides not to remove the duplicated/illegitimately obtained capes, then legitimate pre-order buyers should receive a new exclusive cape as compensation. The Twisted Cape was advertised as a pre-order exclusive, so allowing thousands of duplicated copies to remain undermines the value of the original reward. Either remove the illegitimate copies, or give the people who actually pre-ordered a new exclusive cape that cannot be obtained through exploits.

    I like the idea of making the pre-order cape free for everyone and a new cape would be distributed to people who pre-ordered.

    Please investigate the Twisted Cape exploit and the large number of accounts that appear to have obtained the cape without being eligible. If Mojang cannot remove the illegitimate copies, I believe legitimate pre-order owners should receive a new exclusive cape as compensation. The Twisted Cape was advertised as a pre-order reward, so its exclusivity should be preserved
