Hello Minecraft Team,
Please add a Script API event that fires before a player takes the result of a craft (from the 2x2 inventory grid or a crafting table), with the player and result item exposed and the ability to cancel it.
I'm making a Bedwars (and others) minigame on Bedrock Dedicated Server using the Script API. All items come from a script-controlled shop, so players must not craft items like shears, tools, or armor. Right now, crafting tables can be blocked by cancelling block interaction, but the 2x2 inventory grid cannot, and the Script API has no crafting event. Recipes can only be disabled globally through behavior pack overrides, with no per-player, per-dimension, or per-minigame control. Removing crafted items afterwards with a script is unreliable, because the ingredients are already consumed and the player briefly holds the item.
So a cancellable world.beforeEvents.playerCraftItem event (the name is only a suggestion) that provides the player, the recipe or result item, and a cancel flag. A per-player or per-dimension way to enable and disable crafting would also solve this.
