MARKER & MAGNETITE

I know Mojang doesn't usually incorporate many player suggestions because they feel it would compromise the game's essence, but let's be honest: there are already plenty of strange things in Minecraft. What I’m proposing is to make use of an existing mechanic: marking your home's location with a compass. If—instead of the usual method—we gave the compass a custom name and used it on a lodestone alongside a banner of any color, that location would appear in the background like a quest marker, even indicating how many chunks or meters away you are. The marker would only be visible from a distance when holding that compass, thereby avoiding the visual clutter that would result from having too many locations marked simultaneously.
