Description: Currently, Minecraft's ranged combat options are somewhat polarized: bows and crossbows require charging time, and tridents are rare end-game weapons. There is no lightweight, fast-action physical throwing weapon for quick skirmishes or utility use.
I propose adding a new vanilla-friendly craftable throwing weapon: the Spinning Metal Disc.
Core Mechanics:
-
Crafting & Appearance: Crafted using iron or copper ingots (grounded in the game's metalworking theme, designed as a jagged, gear-like spinning disc rather than traditional ninja stars to fit the natural Minecraft aesthetic).
-
Usage & Mechanics:
-
Instantly thrown with a right-click (no charging required).
-
Flies in a straight, fast trajectory with minimal drop.
-
Deals light damage (about 1 to 2 hearts) but trades raw power for high attack speed and mobility.
-
-
Retrieval & Balance: Similar to arrows or tridents, un-broken discs have a chance to drop on the ground or stick into blocks/mobs for the player to pick back up, making them a reusable or stackable tactical resource.
-
PvE & PvP Application: Perfect for interrupting charging mobs (like Creepers or Phantoms), kiting fast targets, or applying pressure in multiplayer combat without relying heavily on archery.
Why this should be added: It expands the variety of ranged weapons with a purely vanilla-feeling tool, giving early-to-mid-game players a fun, skill-based tactical option for combat and exploration!
