From version to version and to this day, the Torchflower remains without any mechanics. A flower dug up by a rare mob doesn't have to be merely a decoration.
And here is what I propose:
A beautiful base is paramount in our worlds, yet that beauty is often marred by the sheer number of torches needed to prevent hostile mobs from spawning. Torchflowers could solve this by preventing hostile mobs from spawning within their radius—or at least by reducing the likelihood of such spawns.
Notice the play on words? We place a Torchflower to prevent mobs from spawning, just as we used to do with regular torches.
In this way, another old Minecraft feature gets a new lease on life.
