Archaeology: Sniffer & Plants

The Sniffer's current plants are fine for decoration, but to make hunting for the Sniffer egg truly worthwhile, they should add more plants and a new mob that only the Sniffer can find. I’m talking about a new mob: the Scaly Snail. It would appear as a tiny egg and grow into something resembling a Nautilus. It would grow with the help of the "Asen" (a new plant); once it eats one, it becomes your pet. You could move it around to serve as a highly durable, mobile block, and use a brush to harvest scales from it—with a 40% chance of success each time you feed it. These scales could be used to upgrade tools and armor up to three times by surrounding the item with eight scales and repeating the process until the limit is reached. For example: Diamond Sword -> "Slightly Scaly" Diamond Sword -> "Scaly" Diamond Sword -> "Highly Scaly" Diamond Sword. For swords, it would increase attack power. For armor, it would boost durability, Thorns, or protection. For pickaxes, it would increase durability, and so on.
