This Update would expand world height bounds from (-64 to 320) to (-128 to 384) to add a terrifying deep-sea progression system through 3 new tiered ocean biomes:
- Very Deep Ocean (60m deep): Great White Sharks, Jellyfish, and schooling Tuna (drops Raw Tuna, cooks into top food).
- Abyssal Ocean (100m deep): Pitch-black layer with Whales, Sea Spiders, and Eels.
- Trenches (Y: -120+ down to Bedrock): Massive rifts at the bottom of the world.
New Mechanics & Hazards:
- Water Pressure: Below Y=0 (in water >60 blocks deep), upward swim speed drops by 30% and crouching causes rapid sinking. Depth Strider III counters this.
- Crushing Damage: Going below Y=-100 (In water >100 blocks deep), deals continuous damage. This is negated by a new rare Chestplate Enchantment that also cuts oxygen use by 50%. Found only in Sunken Pirate Ships—ghost vessels in the Abyss loaded with Gold, Diamonds, and Treasure Maps.
- Mini-Boss: Mob Vote 2017's "Mob A" (Monster of the Ocean Depths) stalks Trenches and Abyssal Oceans, dragging players down with its tongue.
New Flora:
- Glowstick Coral: Lime-green; emits low light for early exploration.
- Bioluminescent Web Coral: Neon purple; emits light level 1 and repels hostile aquatic mobs.
- Vampire (Stinger) Coral: Reddish-black; inflicts contact damage.
- Varied Foliage: Kelp and seagrass generate in orange, red, lime-green, and greenish-brown variants.
