At the very least I would raise the cap to something like 14,999

The emerald cap is garbage. Remove it!

The game has been complaining at me about carrying so many items in each section, but I really don't feel like just scrapping them since they are worth emeralds.  But, the only 'emerald sinks' I have are buying worthless gear from the trader unless I also have shards for refreshing their inventory.  I have enchantments and effects the way I want them, so doing any of that would be worse than wasteful.

We need to get rid of that cap, not raise it.  Just ditch it entirely.

Yeah this is not a fun part of the game, I hope they listen. I hit the cap in less than 3 hours, how are we supposed to have long-term fun if we have to hold onto stuff just to salvage it later.

And shards are capped to 100 as well, it should be at least clear that there is a cap.

The latest patch increased the cap to 99,999 instead of 9,999. However this is still extremely limiting considering items at the shop cost 9,999 in the endgame, and savlaging special tier items gets you to the new cap almost instantly. It should not be capped at all, same with enchantment points and soul shards.

They raised it but it should be just removed or rather set to the 32-bit integer limit of 2,147,483,747

Well in MCD1, you had to pay emeralds to upgrade at blacksmith

Will try to play again with the increase, but if I hit that again within very little time?  Think I will just not play at all until the cap is removed.  It runs counter to the entire idea they have going:

    1- Adventure and loot
    2- Equip the upgrades
    3- Scrap the rest
4- Use the earnings to upgrade shops
5- Use the remainder to buy or upgrade gear, refresh shop as needed
    6- Adventure and loot

However, because the shards aren't exactly easy to come by, and are tied to a lot of the 'upgrade' section of the loop, plus the 'refresh' once your freebies are done?  The balance between emeralds gained (through loot or scrap) and the shards gained is WAY off.  If I totaled the amount of emeralds I'd get per every 3-5 shards, it would be 10K-15K maybe more.  But, to refresh the shop?  3 shards and a few hundred emeralds.

Not sure there IS a good balance on that, either, as it would be VERY annoying to come back to town too often for either direction.  They should just remove the caps and let players play.  Not like it is an MMO or something, doesn't matter if a player gets too powerful too soon.

The new cap of 99k is much nicer, but I still think it should be removed entirely, along with the cap on echo shards. The limits somehow both encourage AND discourage more playtime. It discourages playtime for me because I don't want to have a ton of gear that I salvage to save space but get nothing for it, but it also encourages playtime because when you finally want to spend emeralds, you don't have as much as you would have had there been no limit.

I am at endgame now, and I don't really feel like playing the game if the game strips away half of the rewards. One half of the rewards being new/nicer gear, the other half being emeralds/echo shards/enchant points. I might just end up waiting to play the game anymore until these arbitrary limits are removed...

After getting to the end of the game I end up spending so many emeralds that I run completely dry with only 100k I feel this should be increased or even removed, maybe even introduce a bank if you need to

Rather than implementing an enjoying item farming system, they focused so much on time gate, scared that the players will smoke through a 10 hour main story and then moving on to another game, by limiting the inventory space (the inventory management is horrible), by limiting the emeralds (the 9999 was absolutely nigthmare and I level through it 1-100, and now the 99999 is still reached instantly and at max level you can't even consume them), and the worst the 100 limit on shards (imagine having to back from farming and keep tracking the shards so you can do 5 rerolls and then go back, when a reroll costs 20 shards) plus the insane fact that the reroll cost increases each reroll by 1 until a cap of 20.

I agree! I hit the cap of 99,000 and found myself nothing to do with any of it unless I wanted to buy absolute garbage from the trader. We need to improve the traders and remove caps. There is literally nothing great to do with emeralds and we need more cap on them so we don’t have to spend them on trash.

Please remove the caps on emerald and shards, it’s making the game not as fun.

They raised it to 99,999 which is not enough.
