There's absolutely zero reason for the game to not allow you to see the stats of items. The first game allowed you to do it. Removing this feature does nothing but make the game worse.

Agreed. This is a very stupid, very pointless change.  I would personally consider this a regression, a severe one at that.

It would make the game 100% more fun

Second game desperately needs stats from the first one, and what is even more weird is that they are showing them on the official MCD2 website, but they are actually missing in the game.

True, right now grinding differrent items seems to lack purpose

The ability to compare stats of weapons and armor is an integral part to any action RPG and any dungeon crawler; to the point nearly all of the games in the two genres, including the previous entry, allowed you to see weapon, armor, and artifact stats. To omit such an essential feature is kinda baffling. Hope stats get added soon.

EDIT: I get the end goal is for the game to be as accessible to as many people as possible, to make Minecraft Dungeons II appropriate for as many players' first dungeon crawler or ARPG. But perhaps things were dumbed down a little too much.

Please do a hot fix even something as simple as being able to see just damage and armor defense would do. Seriously please.

the power level is useless if I can't see the damage the item do.

My biggest complaint is the lack of stats and items having percentage buffs.  The buffs are entirely pointless if you can't see the base number they work off.  Cool this artifact increases your knockback by 150% but 150% of what number?

Instead of the percentage it may as well say this weapon go big boop because in terms of useful information both are equally pointless.

This is an essential feature, im confused why this is not included. At the very least make it toggle-able if the decision was made to make it more accessible. Please fix this as soon as possible. As far as ive seen this is one of the biggest issues right now.

Love the game, but I agree! This would make the game better.

It's a dungeon crawler with build crafting. It NEEDS detailed stats. One of my 2 major problems with the game.

Honestly I can't think of a single feature from the first one that should have been removed in the second. It should have been a complete improvement and there's no reason for it not to be

Removing stats to "make the game more accessible" makes absolutely no sense. How does hiding essential information from the player make a game more accessible? It doesn't.

This is like if Rovio made a sequel to Angry Birds Epic, where you couldn't see the health and attack of characters by tapping and holding, just "this character's power level is 52 and their attack has a chance to stun you for one round". There's absolutely no benefit in not showing stats.

It's insane not being able to tell what's faster or what has more defense or other stats

I was concerned that I was the only one that had an issue with this. To be clear a power level isn't bad, but it cannot be the only way to determine if an item is good. Plus, builds aren't always about min-maxing, sometimes people just want to see how many hits they can take or how many enemies they can send flying

They even have marketing in the dungeon 2 website showing weapon stats, why is this not in the game? This is blatant fake advertisement.

Loot feels completely pointless because I can't see what I'm missing or gaining from using a new item. Even if the concern is accessibility, which I don't think would be a problem, at the very least there needs to be an option to toggle this on. I feel like I'm playing on baby mode where the devs don't trust me to look at numbers without getting overwhelmed.

Looking at numbers to see which of the ones you want is not some herculean task only capable by the top 1% of intelligent specimens. Please have some faith in your playerbase.

not seeing the stats or descriptions on items weapons armor etc is an absolute downgrade, it’s so frustrating to play and not knowing what something does until you use it makes no sense, we need descriptions and stats back it makes the game much more enjoyable, i ask to push an update through to fix this as soon as possible, it really makes me not want to play the game.

Yea this seems like an oversight. It makes armor etc. feel completely useless. Dungeons I had a pretty good system for this IMO.

Should definitely add the stats into the game, most likely on the way in a future patch but if not planned then definitely should be. It’s key for rpg games and building sets ect

As someone with hundreds of hours in Minecraft Dungeons 1, I see no reason why this would be helpful or useful at any stage of the game. New players should be able to see the stats of weapons to better allow them to make a build to their liking, and experienced hardcore players would still find these stats to make a perfect build, but now have to do extra work to find them using out-of-game means, which is both tedious and annoying.

I second that notion but might I also add that the Redstone monstrosity, skulk monstrosity, twisted warden and more i presume use the same moveset just shifted. Another thing is that there is no way to pin places on the map, along with many bugs i have found like the charging bosses instantly turning while charging and being unable to doge, the rematch bosses quests never disappear and are not a different signage as other sub quests and will conststanly clog up the map and minimap, and the arrows are so incredibly buggy they sometimes phase through enemy’s consistently, sometimes they get caught in an enemy and fly in a jitter until they despawn and all arrows now use a sort of auto aim while flying unlike the first game causing them to curve unaturaly and very buggy like causing them to miss or bug out and many other minor bugs it makes me sad for what’s to come if even the arrows are inconsistent since it’s one of two ways of main ways of attacking in dungeons 2 that got revamped.

I love the original and the stats where a big thing with that because it alowed me to see the difference in my items so I felt accomplished seeing the progress I made and when minecraft dungens 2 dropped I felt excited the new dimension and items and the whole open world feature is amazing but the first thing I noticed was the lack of stats the game shows you because speed and range are a big factor in combat because a level 10 greatsword and level 10 dagger dont attack at the same speed so when you fight an enemy like creeper the sword can barely kill the creeper after you swing while the dagger can attack so fast its dead. And we need to realize they added a compare button for you to have nothing to compare but enchants and the big number the fame screems in your face every time you open your inventory.

Please, please, please bring back damage counters and armor strength numbers!! We have no idea if what we are picking up is stronger or weaker than what we already have equipped. Even though the level may be higher we do not know if the actual strength or protection is higher or lower. It’s causing an unnecessary amount of item switching, hoping the new item is better based on a vague level. It also effectively makes your freshly upgraded and enchanted gear obsolete as soon as you pick up a new item that is a higher level and equip it! It’s mind boggling!! There are many examples in Dungeons 1 where you would find a new piece of gear that was a higher level than what you had equipped however had a lower relevant stat such as damage or armor. In those examples it was clear that gear was weaker and therefore we knew immediately to not switch our equipped gear to a weaker item. Please bring back the stats and counters.

Yeah, I want weapon stats back. It’s so annoying having to inspect every single weapon just to check its speed and damage

I feel like the reason they removed it is because most weapons and basically all armor are reskins of one another. If they added stats, we would see that the axe is the same as the pickaxe and the cookie cutter. They would firstly have to rework the weapons and armor, which I think would be amazing. Please make each weapon feel unique like it did in the first game. I also want different stats for each armor type. Each armor variant should do something different and having all 4 should give you a bonus of some kind!

Worst change ever, bring stats back.
