I've played Minecraft for over an entire decade and a trend I've noticed has been that there are so many new things added that its utility can't keep up.
There are many examples of things that need reworks, overhauls and especially expansions. Like agriculture or animal husbandry. The fletcher table is another example of something that's been in the game for so long and was never given a use.
It is completely ridiculous to me that armadillos are added to the game which gives wolves armour and not much else. Same with turtles, their shell pieces are mainly used for a helmet that isn't even worth using.
There is so much potential for expansion in countless areas but the developers are so focussed on adding new things, and I get why. Its to keep the game alive and interesting to maintain the player base. Changing already existing things might result in a loss of interest.
But that doesn't mean that they shouldn't work with what they've already got. To be honest, I expected more. How long did we beg for a caves update? It came, and it was great and well received. But caves are a larger scale thing, we need smaller scale too - but I believe that expanding all these littler aspects of the game would enrich it so much more and allow for more unique play throughs. Such as focussing on farming and trading vs mining vs exploring and pve.
There could be so many routes to the game but somehow the game feels too narrow. Adding these small things could even help the game's progression issues.
