As a part of the upcoming game drop, I and certainly some others would like to see your first new weather type since weather was added. I think hail could fit quite well considering the upcoming ice ball item. It should occur in only a few cold biomes, possibly Ice Spikes or Frozen Peaks. It could replace thunderstorms in qualifying biomes like how snow replaces rain. Essentially, it would work by dropping slightly weaker versions of the ice ball from the sky, dealing maybe one and a half hearts of damage each. It would be avoidable by simply getting under any platform of solid blocks in at least a three by three block area. Hail would by signaled to the player by a single lightning strike in any of the qualifying biomes about thirty seconds before it will start hailing. Getting hit by hail diminishes helmet durability, taking fifty durability each hit. Hail should not be quite as abundant as it is in real life during a hail storm, but it's still worth avoiding at all costs.
I think this feature could go hand-in-hand with the upcoming ice caves, seeing that caves would protect you from hail but have their own issues.
