I feel that recent Minecraft updates have given the game much stronger worldbuilding and a clearer sense of history compared to older versions. More than anything, Minecraft has started to feel like a fantasy world filled with magic and mysterious elements.
While these additions can be interesting, some of them feel out of place compared to the Minecraft we used to know. They sometimes seem like they belong to a completely different game.
I’m a teenage player who started playing around 1.16 or 1.17, and personally, I think the Shift dimension in 26.3 feels especially disconnected from Minecraft. To me, it looks like something taken from another game rather than something that naturally belongs in Minecraft’s world.
I’m not asking for Minecraft to add huge, game-changing features like large Forge mods such as Create, Twilight Forest, or The Aether. Those mods can be great, but I don’t think Minecraft itself needs to change that drastically.
Instead, I would like future updates to add things that could fit naturally even in older versions such as 1.12 or 1.14. New features should expand the world without making it feel fundamentally different.
I hope future updates can preserve Minecraft’s original atmosphere and identity while introducing new ideas that feel natural and cohesive with the existing game.
