Minecraft: The Next Era
Minecraft has one of the strongest gaming communities in the world. I think Mojang could make greater use of community creativity while keeping the identity of vanilla Minecraft.
I imagine a 3-year roadmap:
YEAR 1 — END ERA 🌌
A major End Update with new biomes, mobs, vegetation, structures, resources, exploration and lore. Keep the original End recognizable while making it worth exploring even after defeating the Ender Dragon. Smaller updates could add mobs, structures, blocks and quality-of-life improvements between major releases.
YEAR 2 — ADVENTURE ERA 🏰
A Dungeon Update with huge procedural dungeons, traps, puzzles, secret rooms, mini-bosses, ancient civilizations and unique rewards. Then a Cleanup/Improvement Update focused on forgotten items, old structures, mobs, villages and outdated mechanics.
YEAR 3 — MYSTERY ERA 👁️
A Herobrine-themed mystery update with a cursed biome, strange structures, dangerous mobs, unexplained events and an optional secret encounter. Herobrine should remain mysterious rather than becoming an ordinary mob.
COMMUNITY SYSTEM 🧩
Mojang could identify excellent mods/add-ons and collaborate with their creators through proper licensing, credit and compensation.
NEXT ERA — HOLLOW EARTH 🌎
After these updates, introduce a completely original underground dimension inspired by the general Hollow Earth concept: giant jungles, oceans, civilizations, massive caverns, volcanic regions and unique creatures.
