Village Evolution – A Living Village & Region System
Villages should feel like living communities that grow and change over time.
Villages could have development levels based on trading, population, protection and helping villagers. As a village levels up, houses and workplaces could physically upgrade, new buildings could appear and villagers could unlock better trades.
Villagers could have more personality and give the player tasks, such as exploring a Trail Chamber together. Villagers could also learn to defend their village. Besides Iron Golems, advanced villages could have guards, archers and mounted defenders. During attacks, villagers could take shelter while defenders organize the defense.
Nearby villages could form alliances and build roads, bridges, farms, trading routes and shared defenses. Several allied villages could eventually form larger regions with a central settlement.
The Illagers could develop as well. Pillager Outposts could grow, connect through roads and send patrols between them. If enough Outposts become powerful, the Woodland Mansion could develop into a larger Illager stronghold.
Villages should also have a reputation system. Hurting or killing villagers could cause worse trades or temporarily get the player expelled, while helping the village could restore reputation.
This would make Minecraft feel like a living world where villages and factions develop alongside the player.
