falling icicles interacting with lava

From what we've seen from Minecraft live it is possible for lava lakes to generate inside icy caves, so I think it could be fun if there was some sort of interaction between falling icicles and lava.

Blue ice and lava already generate basalt blocks when they come into contact, so maybe icicles could create basalt slabs when they fall into the lava, which could give the development team an excuse to also add basalt stairs and walls.

Or maybe they could generate a thin basalt layer that either sinks and melts back into the lava after a set amount of time, or after the player steps on it, kinda ike dripleaves! Which would be very fun for parkour and adventure maps!
