The Iceologer deserves another chance to join Minecraft.
Originally introduced during the 2020 Mob Vote, the Iceologer had a unique identity as an Illager that uses ice-based magic. Although it lost the vote, its concept still fits naturally into Minecraft and could be adapted to the game's current design.
The Iceologer could spawn in snowy mountains, frozen peaks and other cold environments, giving these biomes a distinctive hostile mob and another reason to explore them.
Its original mechanics could also be modernized. Instead of simply copying the Mob Vote version, the Iceologer could use ice-based attacks that create temporary hazards, slow players or summon falling ice projectiles. These attacks could have clear visual and audio cues, making combat challenging but fair.
It could also expand the Illager family by becoming a specialized Illager associated with cold regions, potentially appearing in patrols or structures found in snowy areas.
The Iceologer would not need a huge new system to be meaningful. A well-designed mob with a strong environmental identity could make snowy regions more memorable while bringing an old community concept into modern Minecraft.
The Iceologer already has an identity. Now it deserves a place in the world.
Please consider bringing the Iceologer to Minecraft in 26.4!
