1. Mobs Trapped Inside Underground Ice With the new cave generation, deep underground ice caves should contain mobs that are trapped directly inside ice blocks.
-
players can see the mobs
-
The Heat & Melting Mechanism: When a player places a heat or light source—such as a Torch—near the ice, the heat causes the ice block to melt.
-
Hostile Reaction: As soon as the ice melts completely, the mob thaws out, frees itself, and immediately becomes hostile toward the player. Placing torches to light up an ice cave becomes a tactical choice, as lighting up the room might accidentally release a horde of angry mobs!
2. The Rare Special Egg Among all the frozen hostile mobs, there is a small chance for an ice block to contain a rare Special Mob Egg instead
-
To obtain the egg, players must place a torch nearby to melt the surrounding ice block without destroying what is inside.
-
Once freed from the ice, players can place the egg down and wait for it to hatch into a unique special mob.
3. Taming, Riding, and Biome Exploration
-
Taming: Once the special mob hatches from the egg, the player can tame it.
-
Biome Exploration: This special mob serves as a dedicated exploration mount, making it much easier, smoother, and faster for players to travel across different biomes and rough terrain.
