Deep within the world, an old mine was being operated to study this strange material called the skulk. A lot of people went down into the caves seeking its riches, but few managed to actually leave alive. Now the mine system rests abandoned near the bedrock, haunted by the fearsome monster that wardens it.
A variant of the Deep Dark biome where instead of a regular mine, all the blocks are sculk-infested. Almost as if whoever was working on that mine unearthed something that should've never been messed with and awakened the rage of the Warden. The mine could also include different buildings within it where riches were held and the skulk was studied, teaching players about different usages of the Skulk sensor, how to avoid it. And it could also be a place to find enchantments or non-craftable tools.
The place should be the best place to mine ores with increased odds for diamonds and coal (Coal is very important when deep underground), but with the risk of activating the Warden to make it more of a challenge to explore. It could also use a different wood type and be found lower in the world to differentiate it from the normal mines
To add to the challenge, it can be the only Deep Dark area where different mobs are able to show up, giving the player an incentive to fight them in order to keep them from calling the Warden's attention
