Cracked Sticks

  • Sticks can now be placed on either the bottom half or the top half of a block, as a 2×2×16 thin line.
  • Four sticks can be placed in a square on a single block, and require a supporting block, but can be chained in a floating grid indefinitely.
  • The primary purpose is its ability to break. When on a solid block, it can be audibly cracked when walked on, temporarily increasing hostile mobs' aggro range. The cracked stick can then be collected and used for trap making.
  • Carpet can be placed on top of a grid of cracked sticks, and when stepped on, cracked sticks fully break, causing the carpets to follow, and the player or mob to fall.
  • When suddenly unsupported, uncracked sticks will pop off as items, cracked sticks disappear. Breaking or moving a block supporting a grid of sticks will break the entire grid, allowing for more consistent traps with the use of pistons.
  • The secondary use of the block is for decoration. Wall trim, ceiling and floor patterns, windowsills, gazebo roofs, rafters, pool cues, messages on the beach, plain old sticks on the forest floor, this block has many use cases.
