Add missing blocks to complete a set for Gold and Lapis:
We can divide building blocks in 3 categories: "wood", "ore", and "rock".
Each group has its own derived set of blocks: from iron (the ore), you can craft a ore block, or you can do a door, a lantern, or a chain if turn into ingots.
- Case #1 - Gold.
Proposition: Add the possibility to craft door, lantern, chain (and so forth) from gold. This would complete the set and offer a sense of "luxury" for those end-game builds, given the rarity of the material through the mid-game. Moreover, it would bring gold on par with iron and copper, while giving its own "special" use cases (e.g. powered rails).
- Case #2 - Lapis
Proposition: Lapis is an ore that can be crafted to a block, used for enchantments, or as a dye. Introduce a full set (like for other rock materials): raw lapis, smoothed lapis, lapis bricks, stairs, wall, and so on.
Similar to gold, historically lapis has been used in many constructions - increasing its uses through building blocks would not be far-fetched and add a much needed colour option.
The recent sulfur blocks are a great example on the variety that could be given to lapis. It would greatly expand the building options, and it could serve as a potential input for a new biome (lapis caves?)
The following idea DOES NOT advocate for additional emerald uses - that could be considered a different material altogether, more similar to amethyst (crystal) than a metal. That would be something different.
