Non-melting lightning sources

Most light sources will melt snow and ice and near it. This makes it hard to build in snowy biomes and keep the snowy look of the biome at the same time as adequately lighting up your base. Although redstone and soul torches dont melt the snow, they provide a completely different atmosphere and very low light level. 

I propose that a specific torch can be crafted that doesn't melt snow and ice around it. potentially with a slightly more white hue than warm like the classic  torch.
