Caves & Cliffs greatly expanded Minecraft's vertical world, especially underground, with caves becoming enormous and reaching down to Y=-64. However, I feel the surface does not take enough advantage of the expanded height limit. Mountains should make greater use of the space above Y=256 since the height limit was extended to Y=320 but to this day mountain and cliffs generate only near 256 and no higher than that. I would love to see taller and larger mountain ranges with more dramatic peaks, ridges, cliffs, foothills, and deep valleys. Not every mountain needs to reach around Y=300, but the terrain should have more vertical variety and occasionally generate extremely tall mountain ranges. Larger mountain ranges could also have multiple peaks, natural passes, and more gradual elevation changes instead of isolated mountains surrounded by relatively flat terrain. The goal isn't simply to make every mountain taller, but to make Minecraft's surface feel as vertically ambitious and impressive as its new underground terrain. I LOVE MINECRAFT :)
