I wanted to put a very simple suggestion out there, and hope that it sticks. My idea came after my first interaction with the new biome, and seeing just how gorgeous it is. I built a house using the new Poplar wood set, and immediately after wanted to see how that color pallet looked in another biome. I was very disappointed when I discovered that the new grass color is simply a biome shading of normal grass and not a separate block like Mycelium. Despite this roadblock, I do believe there is an elegant solution to this issue;
Rather than creating a new Grass Block variant, or introducing a convoluted method to obtaining otherwise, you could simply make it to where a Poplar Sapling that has been placed and grown on a Grass Block in any biome will then change the color of the surrounding Grass Blocks starting from the center block (where sapling is placed) and extending out X amount of blocks into a nice radius with a pretty color gradient from the biome blend of orange and green tones. Alternatively, if you do not want the orange grass tone in a space, the Player would build the Poplar Tree rather than growing it. This would keep a consistent level of control over the grass tone in any given location for players, while also making sure that no limitations or major caveats are in place that hinder creation or inspiration.
TLDR - Poplar Trees grown from saplings will shade the surrounding Grass Blocks into orange grass, while hand-built Poplar Trees will not have this effect! :)
