The Age of Takeover
A multiplayer-focused update centered around factions, identity, branding, and equipment customization.
π³οΈ Banners on Armor: Players can physically mount banners onto their armor, similar to Pillagers carrying Ominous Banners. These are actual banners, not just patterns printed onto armor. They can represent factions, companies, ranks, or personal symbols.
βοΈ Armor Branding: Players can place logos directly onto armor. Multiple logos can be used for things like faction + manufacturer + player rank. Branding automatically positions itself around armor trims. Untrimmed armor allows more freedom. Metal armor branding remains until the armor breaks, while leather branding can be replaced.
π‘οΈ Shield Branding: Shields can also receive logos, multiple brands, banner designs, and potentially trims.
π Visible Equipment: Unused shields can be visibly mounted on the playerβs back or armor. Banners can also be worn on the back.
These features would give SMPs new ways to create factions, companies, military ranks, alliances, and recognizable equipment. They could also enable stealth gameplay by letting players disguise themselves with another factionβs armor and banners.
Armor could even develop history as it gets traded, captured, and passed between players.
The Age of Takeover would make equipment communicate allegiance, ownership, status, and history.
