I encountered a strange armor stand item data bug in Minecraft Bedrock Edition 26.45 on Nintendo Switch.
I was at my Nether base wearing a Gold Helmet. An armor stand nearby was wearing my enchanted Netherite Helmet. I swapped them: I equipped the Netherite Helmet and placed the Gold Helmet on the armor stand. Everything appeared normal.
There was a Nether portal close to the armor stand. I then traveled to the Overworld and played for several hours. Later, I returned to the Nether through a portal.
The Gold Helmet on the armor stand had changed into an exact copy of the Netherite Helmet I had previously been wearing.
The copied helmet had the same:
- Netherite material
- Tide Armor Trim with Amethyst
- Protection IV
- Respiration III
- Aqua Affinity
- Unbreaking III
- Mending
The enchantments and their order were identical.
I removed the helmet from the armor stand and placed it in my inventory/chest. It remained a Netherite Helmet. Reloading the world did not restore it.
The same armor stand also had a Netherite Chestplate, Leggings, Boots and a Shield. None of them changed. Only the helmet involved in the swap was affected.
No pistons, commands, mods or add-ons were used.
Expected: The Gold Helmet should remain a Gold Helmet.
Actual: The Gold Helmet was replaced by an exact copy of the previously equipped Netherite Helmet, including its enchantments and smithing trim data.
Platform: Nintendo Switch
Version: Bedrock 26.45
