AddOns have huge potential, but creators are still limited in important areas. I suggest expanding the .mcaddon format and official AddOn API.
•Rendering and Graphics•
Add-Ons could have more control over rendering:
Modify block and entity rendering
Add custom visual effects
Control lightweight lighting and shadows
Change fog and atmosphere
Add optional post-processing effects
•Custom Commands•
Behavior Packs could create custom commands such as /home and /warp
Creators could define commands and connect them to scripts or functions, making servers, maps and minigames easier to create
•Network & Connection •
AddOns could get controlled access to the networking and connection system
For example, creators could:
Support multiple protocol versions
Create compatibility layers similar to ViaVersion
Translate or adapt packets between supported versions
Add custom connection-handling features
Create proxy-like systems for custom servers
This should be sandboxed and controlled by Minecraft to keep connections secure
•Expanded API•
Add more access to world generation, player interactions, UI, game rules, entity behavior, events and performance options
The goal is to make mcaddon files much more powerful while keeping Minecraft safe and optimized
More creative freedom could unlock a new generation of Minecraft PE experiences

I would like to see this added because it could really help server creators or just players
I hope someone sees this post, because almost no one looks at the bottom of all ~5000 posts
