Peaceful mode but with hunger and passive mobs

I'm a casual player. I rarely have diamond armor, I don't go to the End, I just like to explore, build my house and plant some crops.

I would like to be able to enjoy the night and caves without fear of monsters, but still have hunger, because to me, hunting and farming are essential parts of Minecraft that I don't want to lose.

Another nice option would be for monster to still spawn, but be passive, or to only attack you when you attack them. That way you could still get string from spiders, bones from skeletons and so on.

    Agreed! I’ve been looking for this exact play mode since I started playing!
