Bedrock used to let players run custom skin packs with full 3D geometry (not just Steve/Alex textures) before this was removed for fairness/anti-cheat reasons. I'd like to see this feature brought back — but done right this time.
Currently, official paid DLC skins (Hello Kitty, Huggy Wuggy, Cat Noir) already use custom 3D geometry, yet their hitbox still matches the standard model. This creates real problems:
1. Small skins look harder to hit but aren't — confusing opponents and lowering their accuracy.
2. Oversized skins get the same unfair mismatch.
3. Since these are paid, it's effectively pay-to-win, while free custom-geometry skins remain banned.
Suggestion: restore full custom 3D skin packs for all players (free and paid), but fix the root issue this time:
- Hitboxes should scale to match each skin's true visual size, or all custom geometry should render at standard size in PvP.
- Restrict high-transparency skins that make players hard to see.
- Add protection against coordinated report abuse before applying penalties.
This would bring back a beloved feature while keeping PvP fair for everyone, not just paying players.
