Golem with weaker attacks

I think what I really want is a smaller golem with weaker attacks (and a little cheaper) than the iron golem. Like the footmen of an army or something, not that great on its own. Snow golems ALMOST fill that niche, but their darn snow balls agonizingly don't do any damage. It'd be fun to have battles with something other than just iron golems on my side.
