Saguaro Cactus/New Cactus

This could be a feature for a potential desert update. The idea is that the cactus grows like a tree and is a wall-type block that can be crafted into a green wood material.

How it could work

• The raw cactus wall could be stripped of its thorns
• 4 stripped walls crafts into full blocks/planks used for wood crafting
• 9 stripped walls crafts into a log/wood block
• 9 raw walls crafts into a full thorny block that can be placed next to each other, unlike normal cactus
• At the end of the cactus arms, a saguaro fruit would grow
• The fruit crafts into seeds, which can be planted in sand to grow more cacti

Why saguaros might not work

• Cutting down living saguaro cacti is illegal
• The traditional way of using saguaro cacti is through their deceased cylindrical ribs, which could be complicated to users
• Saguaros take up to 100 years to mature, which is very different from the other trees

Why it's a good feature

• The desert could use a dedicated wood
• The game is missing a green wood
• The raw walls could work well for defense
• It gives players another reason to find a desert
• It adds more life to the biome

From a player's experience

Playing in a desert-only world can be slow due to the lack of wood. To get a supply of wood, you'd have to either get saplings through a starting chest or through a wondering trader's trades. This creates a difficulty in obtaining wood, which gives the desert a challenge and slows the player. Adding an easier way to get a supply of wood could ruin that challenge.
