If there are carpets, why not add wallpaper. Let’s start with carpets: they are made in a regular crafting table, from ordinary wool, and they don’t need a special profession block, as, for example, flags do. As for wallpaper: the game has had sheets of paper for a long time. I suggest making one large sheet (or two, depending on the balance) from 6 sheets of paper using a crafting table. Then you can paint this one large sheet to get one sheet of wallpaper, which can then be applied to any side of a block. Unlike carpets, I suggest that the wallpaper shouldn’t protrude like carpets — instead, it should simply change the block’s texture on one side without having any volume. When the block is destroyed, the wallpaper would simply fall off, detaching from the block. To add variety to the wallpapers, I also suggest introducing patterns similar to those on flags; perhaps a special printing machine would be useful for this, or you could use a loom, and the patterns could be, for example, all kinds of flowers. If you like it, please like and leave a comment with an addition to my idea. I understand that everyone is trying to add more lore to the game, but we shouldn’t forget about design and aesthetics either.
