Minecraft needs a land-based transport system for the early and mid-game stages. I propose adding carts and carriages hitched to animals via a lead.
Cargo cart (donkeys/mules): Functions like a "chest boat" but for land, offering storage space for long journeys.
Passenger carriage (horses): Transports up to two creatures (mobs), villagers, or players.
Why this is needed compared to existing options:
Vs. Shulker boxes: Shulker boxes belong to the end-game stage (the End). Carts fill a gap in the natural progression for casual players long before the dragon is defeated (and later on, you could even store Shulker boxes inside them!).
Vs. Llamas: Llamas rely on passive AI that constantly struggles with hills, rivers, and forests. Carts offer the player direct control while driving.
Vs. Aerial transport: Air travel is slow and highly situational; carts encourage land-based exploration and road building.
This revitalizes donkeys and mules, gives real purpose to road building, and fits perfectly with Minecraft's original (*vanilla*) aesthetic!
