As a Minecraft player progresses through their adventure, they reach a point where they end up accumulating an exorbitant amount of items in their chests. For example, a player with the Looting enchantment on their sword may end up with several double chests full of armor and partially used tools.
I know you can use a furnace to recover some materials from those items, but you can’t smelt leather, bows, crossbows, etc.
That’s where the Scrapping Table comes in.
This functional block will return the materials that make up the item you place in its slot, in exchange for using amethyst crystals as fuel. Not only can you dismantle the items mentioned above, but also any item that has a recipe on the crafting table, giving them a second chance.
But why would this functional block be important? (summary)
Well, it would solve three problems:
- Accumulation of too many items in chests.
- Accidental crafting at the crafting table (crafting 20 pickaxes with the little diamond you had).
- The amethyst crystal’s limited use (it will now be more useful).
.....
After all, not everything can be easy and optimistic.
I think it would be a bit difficult to code the mechanics for obtaining materials from items with durability, or for blocks that require multiple blocks in their recipe (for example, diorite, its recipe is 2 cobblestone + 2 quartz = 2 diorite blocks. What would happen if you placed only 1 diorite block on the scrapping table??)
BUT (again), I think this would be a good idea. Thank you for reading!
